In Section 30-16n-2e, #1 Tsuda, #2 Tsuda and #3 Tsuda are each permitted to 3,900 ft. First oil from Harris-town South Field, which produces primarily from Silurian, was reported in 1975. Production Energy LLC has completed several shallower Silurian wells in the reservoir and one discovery, #2 Butterfield in Section 5-15n-2e produced from Silurian perforations at 2,325 ft. Through May 2013, the well produced 80,106 bbl. of crude. Sundog Oil is based in Reinbeck, La.

4 According to IHS Inc., Performance Plus Consulting is drilling a deep wildcat in Wabash County, Ill. The #1-1 Gray Farms is a planned 7,000-ft. exploratory test in Section 15-3s-14w. Performance Plus was last reported active at 2,700 ft. The deep test is targeting Knox oil pay in New Harmony Consolidated Field, which stretches across three Illinois counties. First production from the large reservoir was reported in the 1930s. Field output comes from pays in the Pennsylvanian, multiple Mississippian pays and Dutch Creek (Devonian) at 4,676 ft. If the Mount Carmel, Ill.-based company hits its objective, the company's wildcat would be the deepest test drilled in Wabash County. Four previously drilled tests in the county reached depths of 5,760-6,550 ft.

5 A western Kentucky wildcat is planned by Del Energy Group in Hopkins County. The #1 Sue Jones Kirkwood will be in Section 11-J-22e with a planned depth of 2,450 ft., targeting Mc-Closky oil pays. About one mile to the southeast in Section 11 is a 2,305-ft. wildcat that was drilled and abandoned in 1964. To the southeast, #1 BD Franklins was completed in 1968. The Silent Run Field well pumped 13 bbl. of crude per day through Aux Vases perforations at 2,261-69 ft. Del Energy's headquarters are in Pea-pack, NJ

6 Ankor Holding Corp. has scheduled a new directional well in Escambia County, Ala. The #1 Craft-Agnes Helen Emmons 22-8 will be drilled in Section 22-2n-8e with a proposed depth of 15,361 ft. and a planned bottomhole immediately to the southeast. Nearby recovery is about one mile to the northeast. A Norphlet oil discovery by Ankor, #1 Craft-HH Wefel III Trust 14-5 flowed 173 bbl. of 44-degreegravity crude, 20,000 cu. ft. of gas and one bbl. of water per day. Production is from perforations at 14,786-94 ft. The well was directionally drilled to 14,930 ft. in Section 14. Ankor's headquarters are in New Orleans.

7 In Warrick County, Ind., Phillips Exploration Co. has staked a 1,800-ft. wildcat. The #1 Sarah Ellen Kelly Estate is planned for Section 27-4s-6w and targets Harrodsburg pay. According to IHS Inc., two previous tests have been drilled in Section 27. One mile northeast in Section 26 is a Mill Park South Field test, #1 Garland, permitted by Phillips Exploration. The proposed depth is 1,500 ft. and targets St. Louis. Mill Park South Field is a small Warrick County reservoir which first produced in 1985. Phillips' headquarters are in Wichita, Kan.

8 Traverse City, Mich.-based Savoy Energy LP plans to drill a deep exploratory test in Crawford County, Mich. The #1-9 State Beaver Creek and Weber has a planed depth of 11,450 ft. and targets Prairie du Chien. The venture is in Section 9-25n-3w. Two previous wildcats have been drilled in Section 9 in the 1950s and reached depths of 800 ft. and 1,500 ft. In nearby Section 4, a 1983 well, #1-4 State Beaver Creek was abandoned at 4,581 ft. in Richfield with some gas shows reported. About four miles west is Encana Oil & Gas' Colling-wood shale wildcat, #1-23 HD1 State Beaver. It was horizontally drilled to 18,053 ft., with a 9,400-ft. lateral. The company is waiting on completion tools at the expected oil producer. It bottomed one and to the south beneath Section 23.

9 Gulfport Energy Corp. announced results from two horizontal Utica shale wells in Belmont County, Ohio. Following a 60-day resting period, #1-28H McCort had a seven-day sales rate average of 9.6 million cu. ft. of gas per day. The flowing tubing pressure was 4,654 psi on an unreported choke size. The #1-28H McCort had a true vertical depth of 8,475 ft. with a 7,501-ft. lateral and was drilled in Section 28, with a bottomhole 1.5 miles to the northwest in Section 35. From the same drilling pad in Section 28, #2-28H McCort had an average gross seven-day sales rate (following a 60-day resting period) of 11.6 million cu. ft. of gas and 21 bbl. of condensate per day. The 9,489-ft. venture had a true vertical depth of 8,466 ft. and bottomed beneath Section 36 with a 9,489-ft. horizontal lateral. Both Gulfport wells have recovered Btu-rich gas, resulting in strong production of natural gas liquids. The Oklahoma City-based company has permitted four more horizontal tests to be drilled from the McCort drilling pad in Belmont County and intends to drill 55-60 gross wells in the play during 2013.

10 A Utica shale well by Halcón Resources Inc. produced 2,223 bbl. of oil equivalent per day with 75% liquids assuming full ethane recovery from a site in Warren 7.5 Quad, Lordstown Township in Trumbull County, Ohio. The #1H Kibler flowed of 860 bbl. of condensate and 4.5 million cu. ft. of Btu-rich gas based on composition analysis and assuming 27% natural gas shrink, according to Halcón. It estimates the well would produce an additional 821 bbl. of natural gas liquids per day. The horizontal prospect was drilled to 14,257 ft. and had a 6,734 ft. lateral that was completed with 26 stages of fracturing. Before the horizontal portion of the well was completed, the company drilled an 8,750-ft. vertical pilot hole. The Houston-based company plans to build an inventory of multi-well pads for a full-scale development program, with lateral lengths of 7,000-9,000 ft.

Most land in the US is divided into townships—rectangular tracts six miles square. The township, in turn, is divided into 36 numbered sections, each a one-mile square. The lines running north-south and dividing east from west are called range lines. The lines running east-west and dividing north from south are township lines.

A well in Section 15-Township 4 north-Range 3 east is abbreviated: 15-4n-3e.
