?1 Traverse City, Mich.-based West Bay Exploration Co. completed #1-6 State-Livonia & West Bay in Section 6-1s-9e, Livonia Township, in northern Wayne County, Mich., within the Livonia city limits. The directional well recovered 200 bbl. of oil and 30,000 cu. ft. of gas a day. According to the company, the well could have a daily potential of 300 bbl. a day. The company also drilled a Niagaran test from the same drill pad. The #1-31 State-Farmington & West Bay’s borehole extends more than a mile north to a measured total depth of 8,830 ft. with a proposed bottomhole location in Section 31-1n-9e. The operator is currently testing. Niagaran production comes from Northville 11-1s-8e and 12-1s-8e fields, about two miles east-northeast of the current project. Both fields have produced a cumulative 314,496 bbl. of oil, 299.6 million cu. ft. of gas and 3,196 bbl. of water since being discovered in 1988 and 1989, respectively, reports IHS Inc.

2 A 6,700-ft. wildcat is slated for Michigan’s Kalkaska County in Section 7-28n-6w, Cold Springs Quad. Jordan Development Co. LLC, Traverse City, Mich., plans to target Niagaran Brown with its #2-7 State Cold Springs. The well is about 4.1 miles south of Mancelona, Mich. The nearest Niagaran production comes from Cold Springs Field more than 0.5 mile north.

3 North Canton, Ohio-based Bocor Holdings LLC scheduled its #1 Coccaville Unit for a projected depth 5,250 ft. in Ohio’s Trumbull County. The well is in Hubbard Township, Lot 18, Sharon West Quad, about 2.4 miles northwest of Hubbard. Clinton production occurs about 1.2 miles south in Hartford Field.

4 The #1 Doty has been slated by Nornew Inc., Jamestown, N.Y. The 5,443-ft. wildcat will target Oneida in Section 1, Tyner Quad, Preston Township, in New York’s Chenango County. The well is 3.7 miles northwest of Oxford. Nearest Oneida production is about 7.6 miles north in Beaver Meadow Field.
Nearby, Tompkins County is being drilled by Denver, Colo.-based Ansbro Petroleum Co. LLC. The #1 Turek is projected to reach a total depth of 6,720 ft. to evaluate Black River Lime. The well is in Section B, Ludlowville Quad, Lansing Township, about 7.9 miles northeast of Trumansburg. An unnamed field produces from Oriskany about 8.2 miles northwest.

5 Chesapeake Appalachia LLC, a unit of Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake Energy Corp., is active in New York’s Yates County. The #1 Cleon Martin will reach a projected depth of 9,247 ft. to evaluate gas in Trenton-Black River. The wildcat is in Section H, Keuka Park Quad, Barrington Township, about 4.9 miles west of Dundee. Black River production is about 2.4 miles southeast in an unnamed field. The operator also plans a 9,250-ft. test in Potsdam. The #1(626774) Lewis is in a similar location to #1 Cleon Martin, about 1.5 miles southeast of the unnamed field.

6 A 4,050-ft. Devonian test has been slated for West Virginia’s Logan County. Houston-based Cabot Oil & Gas Corp. will drill its #12 Patterson in the Guyan District, Henlawson Quad, about 12.2 miles southwest of Blaine, Ky. Nearest production is 1.6 miles northeast, where an unnamed field produces from Weir.
In separate activity, Pittsburgh-based Abarta Oil & Gas Co. Inc. will drill its #1 Steele-Butler Unit 1 in Section 24-t-80e, Mazie Quad, in eastern Kentucky’s Lawrence County about 5.2 miles northwest of Blaine. The 3,950-ft. wildcat will target Rose Hill shale. Blevins Field produces from Devonian about 1.6 miles north.

7 The #ST-001 CNX Gas Co. is slated for Section 4-m-19e, Sturgis Quad, in western Kentucky’s Union County. Pittsburgh-based CNX plans to target New Albany shale at a projected depth of 4,050 ft. The well is 2.3 miles north of Sturgis, Ky. Sturgis Field produces from Harrisburg 4.3 miles north.

8 A 1,999-ft. development well is slated for an unnamed field in central Kentucky’s Adair County. The #2 Eva Hoover is in Section 6-f-51e, Amandaville Quad. Columbia, Ky.-based Coomer Mitchell plans to evaluate Knox at the site, about 1.8 miles southeast from the nearest production in Gradyville East Consolidated Field. The venture is 8.4 miles south of Columbia. Rick-Rod Oil Inc., Columbia, Ky., is also active in the county at its #1R Leon Burris in Section 24-h-49e, Gradyville Quad. The 1,999-ft. wildcat is about 11.2 miles west of Columbia, Ky. Nearest production (Knox) is 1.2 miles southeast in Pickett Consolidated Field. The company is also active in neighboring Metcalfe County. Its #1 Jo An Long is in Section 18-h-47e, East Fort Quad. The 1,999-ft. Knox test is about 8.8 miles north of Edmonton. Caney Fork Field produces from Leipers 1.8 miles west.

9 Several operators are drilling Western Pennsylvanian tests. In Armstrong County, Dannic Energy, Indiana, Pa, has slated its #1 Hartman for a projected depth of 4,500 ft. to evaluate an Upper Devonian series. The well is in Section 8, Chicora Quad, West Franklin Township, about 4.3 miles northwest of Worthington. Foster Mills Field produces from Devonian 1.9 miles northwest. In Butler County, Monroeville, Pa.-based Huntley & Huntley has scheduled its #1 Goldscheitter/126. Plans call for the well to be drilled to 7,000 ft. The wildcat is in Section 6, Curtisville Quad, Buffalo Township, more than a mile southwest of an unnamed field that produces from Fifth sand. It is four miles southeast of Saxonburg. A 6,000-ft. wildcat has been scheduled by Shelocta, Pa.-based William McIntire Coal Oil & Gas. The Upper Devonian test is in Section 3, Mount Chestnut Quad, Clay Township, less than a mile from West Sunbury, Pa. Hooker Field produces from Venango 1.8 miles southwest, reports IHS Inc.

10 Dannic Energy is also active in Jefferson County, Pa., with its #2 and #3 Humphreys, which are both scheduled to evaluate an Upper Devonian series at 8,000 ft. The #2 is Section 1, Sabula Quad, Snyder Township, about 2.1 miles north of Treasure Lake. Nearest production to this well is an unnamed field 1.1 miles north, which produces from Oriskany. The #3 is in Section 4, another 0.5 mile from Treasure Lake. Balltown production is within 1.4 miles of the venture. Houston-based Seneca Resources Corp. has slated three wildcats, which are all projected to reach total depths of more than 3,000 ft. The #38380 Sulger Farms, #38382 Sulger Farms and #38378 Sulger Farms are in Section 4, Hazen Quad, Warsaw Township. Nearby production includes Warsaw Field (Murraysville and Elk), which is within 1.5 miles. The wildcats are less than 10 miles from Reynoldsville.
