TietoEnator has signed a contract with several Norwegian-sector operators, including Statoil, BP, Shell, Conoco and Phillips Petroleum, to develop a new, web-based industry portal, LicenseWeb. Chevron, Royal Dutch/Shell Group and Schlumberger have agreed to create Houston-based OpenSpirit Corp., which plans to offer standardized software infrastructure to the energy industry. Each company is to own an equal share of OpenSpirit. The software is expected to be released by year-end.
