• Omers Resources Ltd. and Superman Resources Inc. have acquired a 47% interest in Alberta oil and gas properties west of the fifth meridian from Maxx Petroleum Ltd., Calgary, for C$39 million. Production from the assets averaged 978 BOE per day in October or approximately 10.5% of Maxx's total production. The purchasers have formed a joint venture with Maxx to jointly spend more than C$10 million to acquire new oil and gas prospects in central Alberta. • Cabre Exploration Ltd., Calgary, plans to sell its northeastern Alberta shallow-gas area to a major oil and gas producer for C$125 million, the assumption of certain transportation commitments and a gross overriding royalty interest on 22,400 gross acres of oil sands leases. • Samson Canada Ltd., Tulsa, plans to acquire properties in northeast British Columbia for C$90 million from Petro-Canada. Current average net production from these properties is 15 million cu. ft. of gas per day.
