Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Eland Oil & Gas is under way at an appraisal in offshore Nigeria’s Ubima Field. The company is re-entering #1-Ubima, which has been suspended since its discovery by Shell Oil Co. in 1963. A dual-string completion is planned for the venture in four different reservoirs — the D1000, E1000/E2000, and F7000. The program includes two drillstem tests in E1000/E2000 and D1000 prior to running the dual completion to obtain fluid, pressure, and production data for each separate reservoir. An extended production test is also planned. Eland will use the test results to make a development plan from the field. In 2016, gross 2P reserves of 2.4 MMbbl of oil were estimated in #1-Ubima. On a full-field development basis, the gross contingent resources are estimated at 20.6 MMbbl (1C), 31.1 MMbbl (2C), and 66 MMbbl (3C). Aberdeen-based Eland holds a 40% interest in Block OML11 and the Umbima Field in partnership with Allgrace Energy, holding the Remaining interest. The onshore Umbima area is in OML11 and covers 65 sq km.
