Tuscaloosa, Ala.-based Land & Natural Resource Development has scheduled a wildcat in Pickens County, Ala. The #1 McShan 25-1 has a planned depth of 6,500 ft and will be in Section 25-18s-16w. The company’s vertical test in the Black Warrior Basin and is targeting pays in Devonian. Nearby production is within one-half mile to the northeast at #1 Hydrick 19-13 in Section 19-18s-15w. The Magby Creek East Field opener was tested in 2016 flowing 927 Mcf of gas per day from Lewis Sand at 5,862-72 ft. The 6,414-ft well was recompleted in 2017, flowing 661 Mcf of gas from Pottsville A at 4,714-24 ft. About 2 miles to the west-northwest are also two Magby Creek Field wells operated by Land & Natural Resources. The company’s wells yield gas from Pottsville A at 4,684-4,702 ft and 4,767-77 ft. First production from the two-well Pickens County Field was reported in 2014.
