Description
Casper, Wyo.-based Wesco Operating Inc. reported results from a Devonian McCracken wildcat discovery in the Paradox Basin. The #24-21D TMU (Three Mile Unit) is in Section 28-29s-22e, San Juan County, Utah. It initially flowed 56 bbl of oil and 713 Mcf of gas per day from an undisclosed McCracken interval. The well was directionally drilled to 8,360 ft and the true vertical depth is 8,114 ft. A production liner was set to 8,345 ft before the well was plugged back to 8,298 ft. Although further details are not yet available, the planned depth was 8,556 ft, 8,500 ft true vertical, with a planned bottomhole location in Section 21-29s-22e. It was projected to Mississippian Leadville. The new discovery is on the 23,653.48-acre Three Mile Federal Exploratory Unit.
