Drilling Activity Summary

Description

IHS Markit reported that Chevron Corp. plans to bypass a deepwater development test in the company’s producing Tahiti Field. The #2SS (BP) OCS G20082 will be drilled in the northeastern portion of Green Canyon Block 640. The original hole will be bypassed at 24,200 ft. Work on the initial hole began in the summer of 2017 and area water depth is 4,000 ft. At the Tahiti expansion project, Chevron will complete several wells designed to expand the production in sands above the main developed reservoir at 25,000 ft. First oil from the expansion project is expected in 2018. Tahiti Field is made up of Green Canyon blocks 596, 597, 640 and 641. Field production through August 2017 is 242 MMbbl of crude/condensate and 132 Bcf of gas. Wells in the reservoir produce through a range of middle and lower Miocene perforations at 23,000-29,000 ft.
