Description

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil and Gas, has received an application from Anchorage-based Brooks Range Petroleum Corp. to expand the Southern Miluveach Unit on the North Slope, which is approximately 43 miles due west of Deadhorse. The project area is west of the Kuparuk River Unit and south of the Placer Unit. The expansion area is along the west, north and east of the existing unit area. It covers approximately 19,552 acres in 11 state oil and gas leases, including all or portions of the following Umiat Meridian lands: sections 5-8, township 10n, range 7e; sections 1-3, 10-23 and 27-33, town-ship 11n, range 7e; and sections 17-19, township 11n, range 8e.
