Anadarko Petroleum Corp., based in Houston, released details on a discovery in Green Canyon Block 25. The #4 (ST) OCS G16783 encountered approximately 60 net ft of oil pay in Miocene-aged sand. The total depth was not disclosed. The exploration well, called the Calpurnia, is expected to be tied back to nearby facilities. Area water depth is about 4,600 ft.
