W.B. Osborn Oil & Gas is underway at a 5,350-ft wildcat in Osceola County, Mich. IHS Markit reported that #1-7 Hammer is being drilled in the eastern portion of the county in Section 7-18n-7w. The exploratory test is targeting Amherstburg oil pays where there is production in this part of the county—the nearest Amherstburg production is about 20 miles to the southwest in Bevens Lake Field. Nearby oil production in Sylvan Field is about 2 miles to the east of the planned drillsite. The field opened in 1941 and wells in the reservoir produce from Dundee Lime around 3,900 ft. San Antonio-based W.B Osborn drilled and abandoned a Dundee Lime well in nearby Evart Field in 2017 at #1-35 Kennedy in Section 35-18n-8w.
