Anadarko Petroleum Corp. has filed an exploration plan for up to 10 tests to the company’s offshore Horn Mountain Field. IHS Markit reported that the tests will be drilled from various surface locations on Mississippi Canyon Block 81 (OCS G35312), Block 82 (OCS G35313) and Block 126 (OCS G18194). There has been no previous oil and gas production on blocks 81 and 82. Water depth in the area is about 4,300 ft. Anadarko has completed three development wells since taking over the field from Freeport McMoRan. The most recent well brought online, #6SS OCS G19925 on Mississippi Canyon Block 127, is currently producing 8 Mbbl of crude per day from a Miocene zone at 15,264-15,300 ft. Anadarko’s headquarters are in The Woodlands, Texas.
