WPX Energy Inc. (NYSE: WPX) officially appointed J. Kevin Vann as its senior vice president and CFO, the company said July 31, noting that he has filled those roles on an interim basis since March.
Vann has more than 20 years’ experience in accounting and risk management, the company said. Since 2006, he was the company’s controller and chief accounting officer, WPX added.
“I really appreciate Kevin’s ability, confidence and outlook,” said Rick Muncrief, president and CEO.
“He’s well regarded throughout the organization and is eager to be a part of the team that is charged with transforming WPX and delivering improved performance, both financially and operationally,” he added.
Vann graduated from Oklahoma State University and serves on the Oklahoma State Accounting Alumni Council, the company said.
Tulsa, Okla.-based WPX Energy Inc. explores and produces domestic natural gas, NGL and oil.
