In this week’s video: Consol Energy has filed regulatory forms to split the company into separate gas and coal businesses as it tries to open up access to capital for its Marcellus Shale assets. Viper Energy Partners continues to make noise in the Permian Basin, closing 50 deals for mineral interests since the first quarter. Abraxas Petroleum said it has signed and closed deals totaling $39.2 million since May, including a 973 net acre acquisition in the Delaware Basin.
