The Texas economy continues to be affected by the lag between low commodity prices and activity and oil production, said Karr Ingham, a petroleum economist based in Amarillo, Texas. Energy was the major ingredient supporting the "Texas jobs miracle" coming out of the 2009 financial recession. Ingham examines the range of commodity pricing necessary to revive oil and gas activity in the Lone Star State.
