Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Oklahoma City-based SandRidge Exploration & Production has applied for a drilling permit for an 8,500-ft vertical wildcat targeting Niobrara in Colorado’s North Park Basin. The planned venture is #1-23 Rabbit Ears 0681 and it will be in Section 23-6n-81w in Jackson County. According to IHS Markit, Rabbit Ears Federal Exploratory Unit comprises all or parts of the following sections: 2-11, 14 and 15 of township 5n-81w; 4-9, 16-23, 26-35 of township 6n-81w; and 29-33 of township 7n-81w in Grand and Jackson counties. The unit was established for the drilling and production of horizontal Niobrara wells. In mid-2016, SandRidge requested that the Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission modify setbacks for the unit from 600 ft to 300 ft from unit boundaries.
