Two Exploratory Wells Hit Hydrocarbons In Romania
Drilling Activity Details
Drilling Activity Summary
Description
A new hydrocarbon discovery in Romania’s Block RG.06 Muntenia Nord-Est was announced by Romgaz. Production tests completed at two exploration wells, #55 Damianca and #77 Rosetti. The tests confirmed a hydrocarbon accumulation in Jurassic calcareous reservoirs at a 120 m interval at a depth of 4,100 ft. The #55 Damianca was tested on a 7 mm choke and it flowed 1,4 Mboe per day. The #77 Rosetti was tested on a 9 mm choke and it flowed 2.2 Mboe per day. The contingent resource estimate is based on drilling and 3-D seismic data is between 150 and 170 MMboe. The discovery is in the northeastern part of the Moesian Platform in Caragele structure. Romgaz is based in Medias, Romania.
