A Trenton well is planned by Gaitros Oil LLC in Macon County, Ill. The #1 Gaitros will be in Section 30-16n-4e. According to IHS Markit, the venture has a likely proposed total depth of around 3,500 ft based on earlier tests in this part of the Illinois Basin. About two miles to the northwest, Long Creek Energy Inc. has drilled a 3,240-ft Trenton wildcat at #3 Rutherford in Section 23-16n-3e. In late 2015, the company completed the nearby #1 Rutherford, and details have been filed as confidential with Illinois regulators. To the north is Oakley Field, which was opened in 1954. Most of the wells in the field produce from Devonian pay at around 2,300 ft. Gaitros is based in Cerro Gordo, Ill.
