Paris-based Total announced an oil discovery in the deepwater sector of the Bulgarian Black Sea in the Khan Asparuh Block 1-21. Exploration well #1-Polshkov, which opens a new play, was drilled in the western part of the Bulgarian sector of the Black Sea. The discovery is in approximately 2,200 m of water. Additional completion information is not currently available. Total is the operator of the Khan Asparuh Block 1-21 and the well with 40% interest in partnership OMV with 30%, and Repsol with 30%.
