Terra Energy Corp. (TO: TT.TO) appointed Tony Sabelli to its board of directors, the company said Feb. 11. Sabelli returned to the company from Sunshine Oilsands Ltd. (TO: SUO.TO), the company said. Additionally, James F. Wong stepped down from the board the same day, the company said.
Sabelli has more than 35 years’ experience in the oil and natural gas industry, the company said. Prior to leaving Terra Energy for Sunshine Oilsands, where he was senior vice president, operations, Sabelli had been executive vice president, Terra Energy said.
He also worked as general manager, drilling and completions at Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (NYSE: CNQ) and as vice president, drilling and completions at Iteration Energy Ltd., the company said.
Sabelli also helped found Rising Sky Energy Ltd. and Red Sky Energy Ltd., and also served as principal there, the company said. Additionally, from May 2007-October 2009, he was independent director for Terra Energy, the company noted.
Concurrently, James F. Wong stepped down from the board, the company said. Wong had been a director since January 2010, the company added.
Terra Energy is a junior oil and natural gas company exploring, developing and producing in western Canada.
