Stone Energy Corp. reported that the company has completed a discovery at its Cardona prospect in Mississippi Canyon Block 29. The #6 OCS G13997 hit 288 ft of net pay in two intervals. According to the company, gross production is expected to be 5 Mboe/d. Additional completion information is not available from the 10,600-ft well. The remaining well at the prospect is expected to spud in 2016 with a projected gross rate of 5 Mboe/d, resulting in some 20 Mboe/d gross (13 Mboe/d net) for the overall Cardona project. Lafayette, La.-based Stone holds a 65% working interest in the project.
