Thomas W. Stoelk was named interim CEO of Northern Oil and Gas Inc., as the company announced that Michael L. Reger is no longer the CEO and is also no longer a member of the board of directors, effective immediately, the company said Aug. 16.
Most recently, since December 2011, Stoelk was CFO of Northern. From 2005 to 2011, Stoelk was vice president of finance and CFO of Superior Well Services Inc. From 1999 to 2005, he was the CFO of Great Lakes Energy Partners, and from 1994 to 1999 he was the senior vice president of finance and administration for Range Resources Corp. (NYSE: RRC).
Wayzata, Minn.-based Northern also said that Chad Allen, the current corporate controller, became the chief accounting officer. Allen has handled public accounting for firms serving public companies for more than 10 years.
Northern also said it retained Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. as its financial adviser.
