Description
Anadarko Petroleum Corp., based in Houston, plans to sidetrack a deepwater appraisal test on the company’s Lower Tertiary Shenandoah development. According to IHS Markit, #3 (ST) OCS G25232 will be in the northwestern portion of Walker Ridge Block 52. The original hole will be sidetracked at 25,448 ft. Area water depth is 5,900 ft. Nearby drilling was in 2016 in Block 51 at #4 OCS G31938. The 31,100-ft test encountered more than 1,040 ft of pay. The Lower Tertiary Wilcox venture was designed to confirm and extend reservoir boundaries. Anadarko’s Shenandoah development is made up of Walker Ridge blocks 51, 52 and 53. The Shenandoah development is owned by Anadarko (33%), ConocoPhillips (30%), Cobalt International Energy (20%) and Venari Resources (17%).
