Description

Up to six exploratory tests are planned by Houston-based Shell Oil Co. on Mississippi Canyon Block 567. Shell has several producing fields and prospects in the area. Three miles to the northwest is Fourier Field (Mississippi Canyon Block 522). Wells in the Middle Miocene reservoir produce from depths of 14,000-18,000 ft. To the southeast is Coulomb Field, where two gas wells in Mississippi Canyon Block 657 produce from Middle Miocene at 17,158-17,276 ft and 17,970-18,060 ft.
