BNP Paribas appointed three senior bankers, Carlos Aguilera, Thomas Rosen and Christian Hartenberger, to its U.S. oil and gas, power and general industrials M&A groups, the Paris-based bank said Feb. 2.

Aguilera is managing director and head of oil and gas-Americas; Rosen is managing director and head of Power M&A-North America and Hartenberger is managing director of general industrials M&A-North America. All will report to Lincoln Payton, who is head of advisory-Americas.

Aguilera will be based in Houston, leading the Houston and New York oil and gas teams. Most recently, he was vice president of business development for Latin America and Africa at Chevron Corp. (CVX). He managed E&P and business development organizations, pipeline gas, LNG supply and new country entry negotiations at Chevron.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University, and a master’s of business administration degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), BNP Paribas said.

Most recently, Rosen was head of the power and energy M&A investment banking groups at Loop Capital. He has more than 28 years’ experience in investment banking, including leading global power M&A and investment groups at Nomura, Bank of America and Chase.

Rosen runs his own boutique banking firm, Amperage Advisory Partners, and has worked on cross-border transactions.

He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and a master’s of business administration degree from MIT.

Hartenberger will lead M&A efforts in aerospace and defense and industrial technology for BNP Paribas, the bank said. Most recently, he was a sector banker at Barclays, handling A&D and industrials accounts. He has 15 years’ experience, and worked in Credit Suisse’s global industrials group for 14 years handling primary sector investment banking.

Hartenberger has a master’s degree from the University of Mannheim in Mannheim, Germany.
