IHS reported that a Bend Conglomerate discovery was completed by Schalk Oil Co. in Knox County (RRC Dist. 9), Texas. The #1 Lowrance initially pumped 51 bbl of 36.8-degree-gravity oil, with no gas or water. Production is from acidized and fracture-stimulated perforations at 6,268-75 ft. It was drilled to 6,410 ft and is on a 1,920-acre North Texas lease in Section 3, H&GN RR Co. Survey, A-89. Fewer than five wildcats have been drilled within two miles of Schalk Oil’s discovery. Schalk is based in Wichita Falls, Texas.
