IHS Markit reported that Denver-based Samson Oil & Gas Ltd. has received drilling permits for six extended-reach horizontal Niobrara/Codell wildcats in the Denver-Julesburg Basin in Laramie County, Wyo. The wells will be drilled at its Buckaroo lease from a common drillpad in Section 19-15n-66w. The well are #1918 10H; #1918 11H; #1918 12H; #1918 13H; #1918 8H and #1918 9H. The #9H, #11H and #13H will be drilled in Niobrara northward to depths between 19,694 and 19,776 ft (9,137-9,149 ft true vertical) and will bottom in Section 18-15n-66w. The #8H, #10H and #12H will be drilled in Codell northward to depths between 19,756 and 19,806 ft (9,199-9,215 ft true vertical) and will bottom in Section 18-15n-66w. Nearby Codell production is in Section 11-15n-66w at Ward Petroleum’s #11-23-15-2CH Rinco, which was tested flowing 561 bbl of oil, 236 Mcf of gas and 1.273 Mbbl of water per day from a horizontal Codell lateral.
