Hemisphere Energy Corp. announced test results from its Atlee Buffalo Upper Mannville G pool development well in Alberta. A horizontal well was drilled in the pool and is now on production. According to the company, #1 Atlee Buffalo, has averaged just over 60 bbl of oil equivalent per day (100% oil) during its first three months online and has produced more than 70 bbl of oil equivalent per day (100% oil) during the first half of November, with stable production rates. Hemisphere believes that the well is capable of greater production once a planned multi-well battery is constructed in conjunction with further development of the pool and has identified an inventory of more than 30 drillsites at this pool alone – a development plan could lead to recovery of up to 30% of the estimated 38 MMbbl of original oil-in-place. The two Atlee Buffalo pools have been mapped at 66 MMbbl of original oil in place and has recovered less than 4% of that resource. Hemisphere’s headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia.
