On July 1, Regions Bank, the primary banking subsidiary of Regions Financial Corp. (NYSE: RF), said it appointed Brian Tate as executive vice president and group head of its Energy and Natural Resources group. He was also appointed as executive managing director of Regions Securities LLC, the bank said.
“Regions is committed to the energy and power industries, and hiring Brian to lead the expansion of our energy and natural resources platform is a key step forward for us and especially for our clients,” John Barton, executive vice president and head of Specialized Industries, said.
“Brian’s talent and experience will strengthen our ability to provide value-added solutions to our clients and we are extremely excited to have him on our team,” he added.
Tate has 24 years’ experience in finance advisory and capital raising for the energy and power industry, Regions Bank said. For the past 18 years, he was managing director of Wells Fargo Securities LLC’s Energy and Power investment banking group, the bank added. He began his career at Chase Manhattan Bank in New York, Regions Bank noted.
Tate holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and business from Virginia Military Institute, the bank said, adding that he has an MBA from New York University.
He was an officer in the Army and the Army Reserve, the bank added.
Regions Financial Corp. is a financial services company based in Birmingham, Ala.
