A permit was filed by Raw Oil & Gas Inc. to drill a Midland Basin test in Gaines County (RRC Dist. 8A), Texas, north of a recent completion in Monarch Field. The #2 Stephens has a planned depth of 5,800 ft and is on an 80-acre West Texas lease in Section 22, Block C43, PSL Survey, A-1764 – a San Andres completion would be placed in Monarch Field. The planned venture is a southeast offset to a test recently permitted by Midland Oil & Gas in the same section. The #1 Sidewinder has a planned depth of 11,400 ft with objectives including the Wolfcamp, Strawn and a deeper wildcat zone. A quarter-mile south of the proposed #2 Stephens, Lubbock, Texas-based Raw Oil & Gas recently completed #1 Stephens in the same section. This 5,600-ft San Andres producer was tested in mid-2016 pumping 52 bbl of 26-degree-gravity oil, 10 Mcf of gas and 19 bbl of water per day from acidized perforations at 5,410-84 ft.
