Phil Patman Jr. was appointed as CFO of VAALCO Energy Inc., effective April 17, according to a press release that day.
Prior to joining VAALCO, Patman was senior vice president of business development for the Americas at Thailand’s PTTEP from 2012 to 2016.
From 2010 to 2011, Patman was managing director of M&A for Asia at The AES Corp. He also was principal of global infrastructure for Darby Private Equity, a unit of Franklin Templeton Investments, from 2007 to 2010, focusing on Asian infrastructure including energy systems, the press release said.
Prior to that, from 2004 to 2007, Patman was director of business development for Asia at Globeleq Ltd. He also was a professional consultant for LNG and natural gas at Marathon Oil from 2002 to 2004, the press release said.
Patman began his career as a lawyer in private practice in Houston, from 1993 to 1997, and he has more than 20 years’ experience in oil, gas and other areas of the energy industry.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a law degree from the University of Houston Law Center, the press release said.
