Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. appointed Paul F. Perea as its managing director and general counsel, the firm said June 18. Perea was also appointed to the executive management committee, the firm added.

“Paul is a great addition to the TPH team,” said Bobby Tudor, the CEO.

“As the scope of our activities has expanded, and the complexity of our clients’ transactions has increased, we recognized the need to have someone of Paul’s caliber and experience at TPH,” he continued.

“He will be an invaluable resource to our investment bankers, investment managers and other team members as we continue to provide leading-edge services to our clients, from mergers and acquisitions advisory services to asset management capabilities,” Tudor added.

Previously, Perea was a partner at Baker Botts LLP, working in mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and general corporate and securities, the firm said. He had worked at the Houston-based law firm for 15 years, Tudor, Pickering, Holt said.

“Given their reputation and success in the energy industry, it is a privilege to be part of the TPH team,” said Perea, adding, “I am very excited to be joining friends with whom I have worked for many years.”

Perea holds a bachelor’s degree in government from The University of Texas at Austin and a law degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law, the firm said.
