Roderick A. Larson has been appointed as president and COO of Oceaneering International Inc. (NYSE: OII), the company said in a Feb. 19 release.
Larson, 48, has been with the Houston-based company since May 2012, serving as senior vice president and COO with worldwide responsibility for all of Oceaneering's oilfield business operations. In 2014, these operations accounted for more than 90% of the company's revenue and over 95% of its operating income. Previously, he was with Baker Hughes Inc. (NYSE: BHI) for more than 20 years.
M. Kevin McEvoy, CEO, said in a statement, "Rod's promotion recognizes his contribution to the growth we have achieved since he joined Oceaneering and the confidence our board has in his ability to continue to lead the organization in the future."
Since 2012, revenue from the company's oilfield operations increased 36% and operating income increased 45%, he said.
