On June 10, Nine Energy Service, a new oilfield services company, said it had formed as a result of the merger of four different service companies—Northern States Completions, Tripoint LLC, CDK Perforating and Integrated Production Services Canada.
Nine Energy Services provides completions and wireline solutions to companies, Nine said.
"The name 'Nine' represents our team's aspirations," said Paul Butero, Nine’s president and CEO.
"We recognize that perfection in the oilfield is impossible to achieve and that a nine out of ten reflects superiority in the industry. Our name is a reminder of our commitment to provide the best," he added.
NSC, Tripoint, CDK and IPS worked in major North American basins, Nine said. "The team that formed Nine has a long history of delivering quality service and executing flawlessly at the well site," Butero said.
"It is this commitment that is an inherent part of the culture at Nine, and it is what sets us apart. Nine is constantly looking at new ways to create innovative solutions in an effort to drive operational efficiencies, resulting in lower well costs," Butero added.
Nine acquired Midland, Texas-based Peak Pressure Control and Dak-Tana Wireline, a wireline services company, Nine said. Dak-Tana operates in Baker, Mont. and Dickinson, N.D., the company added.
