New Gulf Resources LLC announced Nov. 17 the hiring of Craig Young as its vice president of drilling and completions.
Young has 32 years of experience in petroleum engineering, having served 10 years with EOG Resources Inc. (NYSE: EOG), eventually becoming division operations manager for its Eagle Ford Shale program in Texas, along with 14 years at Marathon Oil Co. (NYSE: MRO) as a senior drilling engineer. Most recently, he was the senior vice president of operations at Approach Resources Inc. (NASDAQ: AREX) and managed that company's resource play in the Midland Basin.
Young will work alongside senior vice president of drilling and completions, Wink Kopczynski Jr. and team to develop the company's holdings in East Texas. He will begin immediately on the company's ongoing efforts to develop the Woodbine, Eagle Ford, Buda-Rose and other stacked-pay programs in East Texas.
