Magnum Hunter Resources Corp. (NYSE: MHR) appointed Michael R. Koy as executive vice president and CFO, effective Oct. 31, the company said Oct. 26.
Since 2014, Koy was the CEO of Denali Energy LLC. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to working at Denali Energy, Koy worked in midstream and business development at EdgeMarc Energy LLC, focused on the Marcellus and Utica shales. He later became CEO of EdgeMarc, Magnum Hunter said.
Koy began his career in 1995 at BP Plc (NYSE: BP). He also worked for Maersk Oil and for Talisman Energy Inc., which he joined in 2009 as vice president of commercial for the North America organization. He helped Talisman’s North America leadership team lead entry into several unconventional plays.
Koy earned a bachelor's degree from Purdue University and a master's degree from the Colorado School of Mines.
