IHS Markit reported that a supplemental exploration plan has been submitted to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management by LLOG Exploration at the company’s Calliope prospect in the Gulf of Mexico. A test is planned the southeastern portion of Mississippi Canyon Block 565 (OCS 34447) in about 6,800 ft of water. The planned bottomhole is to the south beneath Block 609 (OCC G34452). An initial plan approved in 2016 had previously outlined the drilling of two LLOG tests from Block 565 to Block 609. From an offsetting surface location, LLOG recently permitted the first test on its Turks & Caicos prospect at #1 OCS G34447. A second test could also be drilled on the tract.
