Baker Hughes Inc. (NYSE: BHI) announced on June 5 the executive team that will lead the company following the expected closing of its merger with General Electric Co.'s (NYSE: GE) oil and gas business later this year.
GE Oil & Gas boss Lorenzo Simonelli will head the new Baker Hughes as president and CEO. Martin Craighead, currently chairman and CEO at Baker Hughes, will serve as vice chairman of the board of directors and GE CEO Jeff Immelt will serve as chairman of the board.
The combined executive team will include:
- Lorenzo Simonelli, president and CEO;
- Maria Claudia Borras, president and CEO of oilfield services;
- Belgacem Chariag, chief global operations officer;
- Rod Christie, president and CEO of turbomachinery and process solutions;
- Harry Elsinga, chief human resources officer;
- Jennifer Hartsock, chief information officer;
- Matthias Heilmann, president and CEO of digital solutions;
- Jack Hinton, chief health, safety and environment (HSE) officer;
- Nicola Jannis, chief business development officer;
- Derek Mathieson, chief marketing and technology officer;
- Jody Markopoulos, chief engineering and supply chain officer;
- Will Marsh, chief legal officer;
- Neil Saunders, president and CEO of oilfield equipment;
- Uwem Ukpong, chief integration officer; and
- Brian Worrell, CFO.
On May 31, the European Commission cleared GE' purchase of Baker Hughes without conditions, paving way for the creation of a "new Baker Hughes" valued at $32 billion.
The new Baker Hughes will have operations in more than 120 countries, about 70,000 employees and hold dual headquarters in Houston and London. The companies expect the transaction to close mid-2017.
