J. Darby Sere passed away in Houston in October. The former president and CEO of GeoMet Inc. from 2000 to 2012, he began his career at Chevron in 1970.
He graduated from Louisiana State University as a petroleum engineer, earned an MBA from Harvard, and had over 34 years of experience in the oil and gas business, including 17 years as CEO of two publicly held E&P companies.
He was president and CEO of Bellwether Exploration Co. from 1988 to 1999 and Bayou Resources Inc. from 1982 to 1987. He also had been executive vice president and COO of Howell Petroleum Corp. from 1977 to 1981. The full obituary can be found here.
