Nebraska Governor Approves Keystone XL Route

Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman has approved the proposed reroute of TransCanada’s Keystone XL Pipeline project through the state, the governor’s office announced.

The 194.5-mile-long proposed pipeline reroute approved was reviewed in the final evaluation report by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ). The reroute avoids the environmentally-sensitive Sand Hills region of Nebraska.

According to a letter by Heineman notifying President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton of his approval, the following were discovered as a result of NDEQ’s report:
