Lockheed Martin Hits The Gas, Using Space Shuttle Expertise For LNG

Maybe space age technology and ultra cold natural gas were meant for each other.

Aerospace giant Lockheed Martin said on March 12 that it will use its knowledge of building rocket boosters to design cryogenic tanks for fueling liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered vessels.

Lockheed manufactured the Space Shuttle’s external fuel tank and will leverage its skill to meet rapidly growing demand for LNG storage and transportation, the company said.
