Gulfport Energy Corp. (Nasdaq: GPOR) appointed Michael G. Moore as CEO and also appointed J. Ross Kirtley as COO, the company said April 23.
Moore also joined the board of directors, Gulfport Energy said, noting that both he and Kirtley were appointed to their roles after the company searched with Preng and Associates to fill them.
David L. Houston, chairman of the board, said, “The board is very pleased to announce the promotion of Mr. Moore to chief executive officer and his appointment to the board of directors and the promotion of Mr. Kirtley to chief operating officer. The board believes Mr. Moore and Mr. Kirtley will provide the leadership required to pursue the company's long-term growth initiatives and lead the company to continued success.”
Moore joined Gulfport in 2000 as CFO, and was appointed president in August 2013, the company said. He also was interim CEO and CFO, the company added.
Kirtley joined Gulfport in May 2013 and had been COO for the company’s Ohio activities, the company added. In September 2013, he became CEO of Ohio activities, the company noted.
Additionally, Gulfport Energy appointed Michael S. Reddin to the board, the company said. Reddin is chairman, president and CEO of Houston-based Davis Petroleum Corp.
Oklahoma City-based Gulfport Energy Corp. explores and produces domestic oil and natural gas, and also holds Alberta Oil Sands acreage.
