Emerson will acquire U.K.-based Permasense Ltd., which provides corrosion monitoring technology for offshore and onshore oil production, refining, chemical, power, pipelines metals and mining and other industries.
Permasense monitoring systems use unique sensor technology, wireless data delivery and advanced analytics, according to an Oct. 3 press release.
The Permasense product line will become part of Emerson’s Rosemount portfolio of measurement and analytical technologies, which includes Emerson’s Roxar intrusive corrosion monitoring system.
With the Permasense acquisition, St. Louis-based Emerson will be the largest provider of integrity and corrosion management solutions.
