Devon Energy Corp. (NYSE: DVN) appointed Barbara M. Baumann and John E. Bethancourt to its board of directors, the company said Jan. 27.
“We are very pleased that Barbara Baumann and John Bethancourt have agreed to join Devon’s board of directors,” said J. Larry Nichols, the company’s executive chairman. He added, “together they bring more than 60 years of distinguished experience in the energy industry that will further strengthen our board. We look forward to leveraging their insights and expertise to help guide Devon’s strategic decisions.”
Baumann, who is president and owner of Cross Creek Energy Corp., also serves on the boards of SM Energy Co. (NYSE: SM) and UNS Energy Corp. (NYSE: UNS), Devon said. She previously worked for BP Amoco, the company added. Baumann has a BA degree from Mount Holyoke College and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
Bethancourt most recently worked for Chevron Corp. (NYSE: CVX) as executive vice president, technology and services, the company said. Bethancourt holds a BA degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University.
Shareholders will be able to re-elect all directors at the company’s June 4 annual meeting, the company added.
Devon Energy Corp., based in Oklahoma City, is an oil and natural gas E&P company.
