Drilling Activity Summary

Description

A 7,000-ft wildcat is planned in a non-producing area of southeastern Idaho by CPC Minerals LLC. According to IHS Markit, #18-2 Federal will be in Section 18-3s-43e of Bonneville County. No objectives were disclosed. The venture is on the Idaho salient of the Overthrust Belt. Nearby production is about 50 miles to the east-northeast at a Game Hill Field discovery in Teton County, Wyo. In 1977, a Frontier gas well at #1-35 Federal, Section 35-39n-114w, flowed 725 Mcf of gas and 115 bbl of water per day from a fractured interval at 15,952-16,232 ft. The total depth is 16,711 ft. Nearby drilling is at #17-1 CPC Minerals, which is about one-half mile to the north of #18-2 Federal drillsite. It was drilled in 2007 to 9800 ft and encountered sloughing hole problems at 7,636 ft, then lost a fish in the hole. After the fish was lost, drilling operations moved uphole and kicked off at 4,490 ft to sidetrack around the junk in the hole and additional details are not available. CPC is based in Cedar Hill, Utah.
