CONSOL Energy Inc. (NYSE: CNX) appointed Nicholas J. DeIuliis as its president and CEO. J. Brett Harvey, whom he replaced as CEO, became executive chairman of the board, the company added. Additionally, DeIuliis joined the board of directors, the company noted.
The appointments were made on May 7, CONSOL said.
"Nick is well-prepared to lead CONSOL Energy into a very exciting chapter in our 150-year history, having already served as a critical member of the management team that skillfully steered the company through a transformative and important period of time," said Harvey.
Harvey added, "Nick's vision, values and commitment to CONSOL Energy will be a strong asset to our shareholders, employees, customers and community partners moving forward."
DeIuliis has been president of the company since February 2011, and has more than 23 years’ experience with the company, CONSOL said.
He has worked in the exploration and production division, as well as in the coal division, and previously was COO and senior vice president of strategic planning, the company said.
Pittsburgh-based CONSOL Energy Inc. explores, develops and produces natural gas and coal in the Appalachian Basin.
