Cobalt International Energy Inc. is underway at Lower Tertiary test at the North Platte development in Garden Banks Block 958 (OCS G32460). The #4 OCS G30876 is in the southwestern portion of Garden Banks Block 959 and area water depth is 4,900 ft. The original discovery, #3 OCS G30876, hit approximately 550 net ft of oil pay in a Lower Tertiary Wilcox reservoir. It was drilled to an estimated depth of 34,500 ft. An appraisal test was drilled early 2016 to a total depth of 30,530 ft and no additional information is available. Houston-based Cobalt estimates that the North Platte area has a gross resource range of 400-850 MMboe.
