Houston-based Chevron Corp. is drilling a deepwater bypass on Green Canyon Block 807. The #3 (BP) OCS G31752 is in 4,900 ft of water. According to the permit, the original hole was expected to be bypassed at 25,560 ft. The venture is the second appraisal test of the company’s 2015 Anchor discovery. The Anchor find on Block 807, #2 OCS G31752, hit 694 net ft of oil pay in multiple Lower Tertiary Wilcox sands after drilling to 33,749 ft. The first appraisal test in the area, #1 (BP) OCS G25198, reached an unreported total depth in mid-2016. It was drilled in the northeastern portion of Green Canyon Block 806 (OCS G31751), bottoming to the north beneath Block 762.
