Drilling Activity Summary
Description
A horizontal wildcat on the southern flank of the Powder River Basin initially flowed 1,677 bbl. of oil equivalent (854 bbl. of oil and 4.9 million cu. ft. of gas) per day. Chesapeake Operating Inc.'s #29-33-70 1H Combs Ranch Unit is in Section 29-33n-70w of Converse County, Wyo. Production is from a horizontal Niobrara interval at 11,605-17,601 ft., following 20 stages of fracture stimulation. Flow was gauged through a 24/64-in. choke and the casing pressure was 2,825 psi. According to IHS Inc., the Niobrara lateral extends northward with total depth of 17,768 ft. at a bottomhole location in Section 20-33n-70w.
