Brent Eshleman became president and CEO of Bellatrix Exploration Ltd. (NYSE: BXE), and a board member, the company said Feb. 15.
Eshleman joined Bellatrix as executive vice president in July 2012, becoming executive vice president and COO in September 2014. Eshleman has more than 30 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry and is an engineer.
On Nov. 25, 2016, Eshleman became interim president and CEO, the company said, noting that the Feb. 15 appointment completes the formal leadership transition as Raymond Smith retired as president and CEO.
Smith became the president and CEO of True Energy Inc., Bellatrix’s predecessor, on Jan. 26, 2009. Smith also retired from the board of directors, Calgary, Alberta-based Bellatrix said.
